late night at work

A few days have been missed but Ive been extremely busy as you can imagaine. Saturday was our moving day and all we did was pack and make multiple trips to and from the old place to my place to my parents place. Now my apartment is overloaded with boxes. Glad its over though with the whole moving thing because it really is so stressful. My parents had to deal with annoying restriction by their building and even more annoying neighbots which was definitely not welcoming as first time movers. Coops are not the typrnof place to move into if you want freedom thats for sure. It is what it is and all of us are trying to think positively about our situations. No more coops for us though. On a lighter note, my brother is coming home this weekend so Im excited. hopefully he wont be too dissapointed with his new living conditions. Ill keep you guys posted with any new news.

I'm back and here to stay... hopefully

WOW it's been a long time since my last post on this blog and so much had happened I dont even know where to begin. When i first started this blog my intentions were to write, share, and entertain about my secret love/ obsession with makeup which is something most people in my life dont know.  But I think I'm going to change directions here and write about my personal life because there are a million makeup blogs out there. I want to share my life and I want to read about what I was up to a month or year ago. So now that this mini disclaimer is out of the way on to my life.

The biggest things that have happened this past year and have kept me busy/ stressed/ excited is that I've moved! Not only have I moved but my parents are moving as well and that amazing four bedroom apartment that my friends jokingly call the mansion now belongs to a young asian girl with a wealthy family (no that's not me). So I officially moved into my UES studio in December and now my boss likes to call me gossip girl. This weekend were giving up our home home the place where Ive had all my firsts; first words, first steps, first kiss, first sleepovers and it breaks my heart. It breaks my heart in a first love kind of way. My new apartment will now be my home home and my parents are moving to their one bedroom in murray hill, of course my brother will be tagging along.

In one year the life that I had for 23 years has completely changed for the better ans I'm so excited to see again in another year where life will take me.

Blogging day 3? Should I still be labeling these?...

Sorry I slacked off yesterday. I was busy at work and by busy I mean I foud a new app and I've been obsessed. If you haven't downloaded it yet it's called draw something. Basically it's an online pictionary game you can play with your friends and it'll keep you busy for hours.

Ok, now on to my makeup tip of the day

Tip#2: Another investment piece worth getting for your collection is a good eye lash curler. I've tried plenty of drugstore brand ones including revlon and e.l.f., both of which were ok but are nothing compared to my hg (holy grail) shu uemura curler. This curler retails for about $22 I believe. Unfortunately it's no longer being sold in the U.S. This is the time when you contact your Asian friends, the ones who travel to hong kong every summer, and ask them to pick one up for you. Do whatever it takes. Take them out for a cup of coffee afterwards to thank them but seriously you won't be disappointed. I've owned my lash curler since I was in in high school ( that's 5+ years) and it is still the one item that I wouldn't want to live without. I even bought mine on discount for $15 and contemplated buying a backup. Still regretting not doing it to this day. But don't worry, it's extremely long lasting and durable and has survived being crushed in my bag everyday. It is definitely my favorite makeup item without a doubt.

More beauty blogging tomorrow.
Until then, enjoy the beautiful weather!

Blogging day 2

All I have to say is thank god it's Friday. I am so ready for the weekend already but since I have a few hours left before I am "released" I decided to continue this blogging thing. So today I have a confession. There are very few people in my life who know this fact about me but I guess I'll just share it with whoever comes across this blog.

I am makeup obsessed.

It's a sickness that I acquired probably around 4 years ago when I was a freshmen in college and I blame it all on YouTube. The sad part is that over the years I have collected so much makeup and most of it is barely touched. I never wanted to be one of those girls who couldn't leave the house without makeup on but as of recently I've realized that I actually feel very self conscious when there is nothing on my face (or at least my eyelashes curled). So I am going to start blogging about my personal experience with makeup and what I've learned through my purchases.

Let's begin:

Tip #1: If you are ever going to put any sort of eyeshadow on your eyes the first thing you should do is invest in a good primer. I must've applied eyeshadow for at least a year (in high school) without primer and I didn't know any better. I had heard about these eye primers through YouTube but as a student getting a 30$ allowance a week, I could never get myself to spend 15$ on a primer. It wasn't until a year had past that I finally decided to try one out. I picked up loreal decrease at the drugstore for about $5 and I thought eh it's alright. Didn't seem like it made a huge difference but I did see some results. A year later I finally bit the bullet. I purchase the too faced shadow insurance and remember that the first time I used it I was blown away. I only wished that I had purchasottis two years prior because my shadows looked so much better. It is expensive but trust me it is well worth the price and it will last you a long time. I've had my tube for about a year and it is probably only half way done.

Tip 1.5: Get a tube of this stuff in a gift set tht comes out around Christmas. You'll be able to pay about 40$ for the full tube and about 12 eyehadows. Such a great deal and also great for starters. Other great brands (so I've heard) are urban decays and Nars eye primers. Both of those brands however are geared more towards oily lids and since I have dry lids I stick to to the too faced.

I'll continue with more tips during work next week. Until then has a great weekend!

Blogging day 1

Ok ok so I have no excuse for where I've been for the last 6+ months. To say that I was busy is only partially true but I'm just going to stick to that. I've been working full time for about two months now and definitely miss being a student. Just to summarize as briefly as possible, work is consistently boring and exhausting. Guess that's why I decided to come blog (during work) just to relieve some of the boredom and routineness.

Random story of the day: This morning while walking to work I see a man on the streets wearing scrubs. I know that there is no hospital close to this area so I just assumed he was a PA at some private doctors office. So I continue walking to work and realized that he's following me into my building. What makes it sensible to wear scrubs to work when our dress code is business attire. Blows my mind.

Begin

In all honesty, I haven't decided what I would like to blog about; whether I should  have a theme or just a mix of rambles and nonsense. However, I set it up with a purpose. I want to document some part of my life; fashion, beauty, social, anything. I want to see progress in myself as an individual physically and mentally. So I hope you enjoy and stay interested as I make a fool of myself (or so I will be thinking in the near future).
A picture of my latest accomplishment, one that i dreamed of my entire life and a stepping stone to my dream of the "luxe" life.
